Bend, Oregon

Tuesday, December 30, 2014

These pictures are from our weekend getaway to Bend, Oregon a few weeks ago.  A quirky town that could not be any more different than LA.  We were looking to do some skiing (Bend is 17 miles from Mt. Bachelor), but also to visit a place we had never been to before.  Home to over 20 breweries, micro distilleries, restaurants using locally sourced ingredients and with extensive gluten free menus, trees, trees and more trees, outdoor activities aplenty and of course more deer than I've ever seen in SoCal (their grace took my breath away).  Our favorite find was McMenamins Old St. Francis School - a Catholic school turned hotel/bar/movie theater - their Old Fashioned's were superb.  When we first arrived, there was not speck of snow on the ground in Bend, but on the day we were leaving, we woke up to a winter wonderland.  It was a beautiful sendoff.

Just a little silliness in preparation for all the entertaining this time of year brings.

Thanksgiving came upon me quite quickly and now we are just weeks away from the end of 2014.  Where does the time go?  One of my struggles this year was to remember to remain ever present in every adventure and every moment and not be so concerned with the transience of time.  Each hour, minute and second that passes is an hour, minute and second that you will never get back.  That is the inevitably of time.  Our present seems to be filled with the constant analysis of our past and the restless anticipation of tomorrow.  It takes much more of an effort to remain in the present and treasure the hours, minutes and seconds right in our grasp.  Here's to living in the present.

Every girl needs that one dress that the minute you put it on you are transformed and your confidence and attitude are taken to ever better levels.  This dress is very important because, in this dress, no matter what is going on in your life, you can conquer anything - from finding a taxi during fashion week to getting in to the strictest of fashion parties.  In this dress, you feel serene and powerful and absolutely, drop dead sexy.

Thank you again to the lovely Cindy Bokeh for these gorgeous pics.

New York New York, Part One

{Dress: Berhard Willhelm; Skirt (underneath): BB Dakota;
Heels: Tania Spinelli; Clutch: Deux Lux}

I'm finally getting around to posting some pics I took while in New York during NYFW.  I was in the city for work, non-fashion related unfortunately, but had to take the opportunity to check out Lincoln Center and all the NYFW madness.  Women definitely come wearing their absolutely most fab looks.  It's inspiration galore and a tad bit intimidating.  I loved it!  I wish I'd had more time and had made more of an attempt to get tickets to shows.  I hope I get another opportunity to get out there during fashion week.

I could not put this Bernhard Willhelm dress down when I found it at Decades, without a mind as to where I'd wear it.  As soon as I booked my trip to NYC, I knew I had found the perfect occasion. Check back over the next few days for more looks from NY.

Thank you, Cindy for the fab photos!
